new helmet… and other things behind the scenes
posted February 25th, 2009categorized under new photos, updates
Today is February 25th… less than one month of winter left. I feel that we’ve been through the harshest so far and it’s only gonna get nicer out.
I got a new helmet last week, there was a defect in the strap mechanism, so I got it swapped under warranty. Nice! Many thanks for the boys at Le Grand Cycle for taking care of me. If you’re gonna spend as much time on a bike as I do, and you wear a helmet all the time, it might as well be a really nice one. I love my Giro Atmos.

so… all that being said, I’ve been busy behind the scenes. Working on client jobs, prepping two new websites and portfolios for me… big business up ahead. I do appreciate everybody keeping an eye on my work, trust me, when all the new work comes out, it will be worth the way.
cheers, more news soon,
Jerome

the trinity of my life… love, photography and bikes
posted December 23rd, 2008categorized under new photos
I am a heart on wheels.
The photo below to the left is a shot I took of my partner Michelle, she is the love of my life. It happens to be a chapter9photography photo from my bathtub series in progress… Below to the right is a self-portrait I took while riding in traffic during a snowstorm. Michelle worries about me when I ride my bike, for all kinds of reasons.
This photo assembly is yet another tribute to the one I love.

why hasn’t the projectmessenger website been updated?

because I’ve been working hard behind the scenes on deadlines for clients… as an unconventional self-employed freelance artist and photographer, I gotta be smart about business and paying the bills. Clients always come first.
I’ve been really lucky recently to have a steady flow of contracts, so I surf the waves of contracts as they come in. I’ve been working on some super cool projects recently, one of which is the website for my bike shop here in Montreal, Le Grand Cycle. I just re-launched that site this week. I seriously love what I do. Check it out, I’m super proud of this contract.
My shop deals with a mix of messengers, mountain bikers and the average commuter. I’ve always lived by the philosophy of “bikes are bikes”. I love bikes. So even though this entry has less to do with “messengers”, it has everything to do about the trinity of my life… love and bikes and photography. In that spirit, I wanted to take the time to share some random “work” shots.
the shop just got this super nice white Soma Rush:

we had been waiting for Soma tires forever… I’ve been killing mine:
I’m stoked that the shop now has the Soma Everwear 5mm tires
because dirt and air are fun…
the last weekend of dirtjumping this season, good time with friends:

It was great to see all of you, thanks for your amazing support and kind words.
This is only the beginning of my first campaign towards the 2010 book.
On my way to Foufs from Old Montreal, I caught up with Eric and Guillaume,
on their way as well. Of course I pulled out my camera as we were riding…

Halloween = messengers wearing suits.
